Longest Day Ever!!!

I must say this was one of the longest days of my life. First it started by me going to the vet to take our dog Emmett to get fixed. This by itself would make it a stressful day because of the worry. After that Michael and his step dad Paul went to Home Depot to buy insulation for our attic and also supplies to put up some dry wall in our hallway to cover the big gaping hole that was there from when the AC installers ripped out our wall heater. This was all fine and exciting cause I just wanted these things done, right? Well Michael started laying the insulation in the attic and Paul was telling him, "make sure you stay on the beams and not on the dry wall cause you will fall through the roof, it's very important!!" he says. About 15 minutes later I hear a loud boom and Michael yelling oh man! Sure enough he leaned on the dry wall for a split second and he fell right through our roof and into our bedroom closet!!! Lucky for us it was not the living room or bedroom or something out in the open. But the dry wall was ruined and there was dry wall dust and chunks ALL over my clothes in the closet. Lucky for us Paul used some of the new dry wall we had from the hallway and he fixed it. Since it's in the closet where no one can see it doesn't matter that it looks really bad and doesn't match. All that matters though is that it is covered and that Michael was safe.

One thing that went really well was covering the hole in the hallway. My brother-in-law Ionuts did a very good job on that and it looks really nice.

After all of this Michael and Paul went to the back yard and tried to fix our lawn mower which had been broken fro a while now. Then we went to the vet to pick up Emmett who looked so sad and depressed from being drugged and he had a cone of shame on his head:( Then for the rest of the evening we took care of Emmett and made sure he was o.k.

Talk about a LONG day. We got a lot done, and went through a lot of stressful situations we were not planning on but we did it and we survived.

What a day!!!!

  1. Isn't it nice owning your own home :)? The joys of fixing things yourself. Sorry you had a long day but looks like a lot was accomplished. Makes you feel really good at the end.

  2. Welcome to owning a home. NOTHING ever goes as well as you plan:) It's better than the alternative, though.
